About the Campaign
Sapa O’Chau is an organisation that arranges tours such as hiking, handcrafting, and visiting tourist sites. They also run a school where they teach English to teenage and adult students. The teenage students go to high school every day and would take extra classes while the adult students take 1-2 classes every day at Sapa O’Chau organisation. This organisation also runs a small hotel for tourists and volunteers during their stay in Sa Pa.
The project will consist mainly of teaching rudimentary English to the locals. We aim to use the funds to provide educational resources to the students to better facilitate their learning. These include, but are not limited to, teaching materials, books and stationery to provide the students with a conducive learning environment.
Project Update:
This campaign raised a total of US$ 1,113.00, all of which were passed on for the organisation and to improve the welfare of the students.
Following our discussion with the founder of Sapa O’Chau, we used a small portion of the funds to buy a portable speaker for the students. We believe that such classroom gadgetry would further help improve the learning experience of the local students.
Additionally, the remainder of the money (US$ 900) was allocated for the construction of the boys’ bathroom in the new dormitory building.
