Raising funds for: Samaria Student Fund

About the Campaign

In a casual discussion, a small group of students was asked, “ Which school would you want to go to junior high school?” A girl was in tears, struggling to answer, “ I would be lucky enough to even continue onto junior high school”.  A week after this conversation, her father passed away and left behind the mother and two children without a steady income for the family, and barely any educational savings for the children.

There is a small group of students who have similar backgrounds in Samaria School, located in Jakarta, Indonesia. There are single moms who have to pay school tuition without a steady income. Jakarta is the most populous city in a country with the largest Moslem population in the world. Hence, having a good Christian education in this part of the city is the main reason for parents to send their kids to Samaria school. Parents want their children to gain a strong Christian foundation with Christian values. They also want their children to grow in an educational environment where it emphasizes the development of the children as a whole. The education system is conducted in a way that respects the child as a developing human being with emotional and social needs, instead of a rote-learner. Unfortunately, some families find it hard to pay the monthly tuition, which is similar to the price of 7 Big Mac Meal.

This crowdfunding effort is put together to raise the much-needed fund to help cover the ongoing semester tuition fees for students who come from families with challenging financial backgrounds. A majority of these families have fluctuating or no income at all. We appreciate any donation given to support these students.
